Spring Project #1

3.23.2011
Project #1 has sprung.

Gray dresser via Ikea is now prettied up with a chevron pattern.
Taped out using a ruler and marking simple guidelines with a piece of chalk.
Sanded down the lines by hand with sand paper. Then, wiped with clothe.
Painted 4 coats over the course of the day with white paint/primer mix.
Let dry over night and peeled the painter's tape away.
Removing the tape was most nerve wrecking and it does need a few touch ups.
All together, I'm pleased and thought the project was easy.
Will post finishing photo after I make my way to Anthropologie to pick up new knobs.

Before:
(what are we watching!?)
Tape in place for a chevron pattern:
 Sanded down.
 Painted white (4 coats)
 Tape removed
Successful project.
Need's a few finishing touches and knobs next.

Oh wow, very cool! You did a really nice job. We have an old dresser in our house that I "get" to take to college with me next year. It needs a little sprucing up... maybe I'll try something like this on it. Thanks for the inspiration!

Niice. I can't believe how even you got your lines to come out.
