Point and Shoot

6.15.2011

With my camera on the fritz, I've been looking for a replacement. Currently I have a very cheap samsung point and shoot. I have played around with it and used it as much as I possibly could. With the screen cracked and now shutter problems...IT'S TIME.

Do you have camera suggestions?? I'm looking for something a little step above a regular point and shoot but not INSANELY expensive. My photographer friend suggested the Cannon G12 as something that would work great. Anyone ever use one?

Ted's purchasing a camera soon as my anniversary gift (we celebrate 2 years in 2 weeks!! eek!)

Hi, I have one of these and I LOVE it! My husband is a photographer and is always trying to teach me about TV and AV and ISO and all settings like that. Its been hard to pick up while switching lenses and stuff on his SLR. But this one is perfect for me. I have learned so much and now he is impressed that I know how to manually shoot. I am a mom too and worried that it would be to big to lug around but its not, since I'm using it all the time. I have a nice case with strap so its usually around my neck ready to shoot. The image quality is great and the video kicks butt. I LOVE THIS CAMERA. You should totally buy it!

ps. you just inspired me to do a post about my camera that I love so much. I'll also mention where I get my cheap but not cheap looking fake leather (vintage looking) case and strap combo. Good luck with the purchase, I know you won't be sad about it!

I am for SURE no expert - AT ALL...although, I would say for point and shoots (if that is the route you go) ANYTHING from the canon elph family is totally awesome. i have had one for 5 years, and I LOVE it, and all of my friends had them too - super simple and they capture pictures quickly and well!

i am new in the DSLR department, a year and a half ago i got my first one - a Nikon D3000 (this years model is D3100) - and i LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. I got it from costco, it came with two lenses, a case, AND an instructional DVD (which I totally watched). It takes GREAT pics in auto mode (which I use all the time, no flash) and get tons of compliments! :)

Anyway, there's my 2 cents!

[ LMT ] I've been wanting to hear those words. "I LOVE THIS CAMERA. You shoudl totally buy it!" I've done research and it looks great, but hearing it from another user is always reassuring. I'm definitely going to hop over to your blog and be on the look out for your camera post. Thanks, thanks for the feedback.

[ Carmen ] When I start shooting.. ..I'll start reviewing. I can't wait!! Stay tuned.

[ kim ] We have been looking to purchase on amazon but have thought about tagging along on a cosco trip with a friend to see what they have. Although, I don't think they carry the G12. But, I know that they have great deals.
