DIY Lavender in the Kitchen

5.03.2011
Months and months have pasted since I brought flowers into my kitchen. I'm back to share with you how this display has evolved and become one of those pieces I really love about my kitchen.
After months of switching in and out fresh flowers that die quickly and filling mini vases with water [headache], I decided to buy beautiful fresh smelling lavender and it was a great decision.
Now, my kitchen smells of lavender and I don't have to change them out as often.
Bare with me on my point-and-shoot camera photos in which have bad lighting and takes blurry photos on occasion.
My kitchen couldn't be happier.
Unrelated, but since I have a picture here to explain what I'm about to say...I'm going to say it. I've been looking for fabric to make curtains. I like our current curtains except that our ceilings are extreme and I need to custom create in order to have curtains that actually reach the ground. The window itself is gigantic. In the dining room, the window is identical. I have gone back and forth with thinking about how much fabric to buy. Whether to have curtains hung higher and reaching to the floor, how much do I want it to touch the floor, or keep them hung at the same level but reach the floor. Do you see my dilema? I do know this, I'm not too fond of the huge gap between the curtains and the floor. Although, I do think they aren't the worst thing ever.
